Frequently asked questions

Zcribbler is a private network for your people — not a public feed. Here's how it works.

Getting started

What is Zcribbler?

Zcribbler is a private network for the people who matter to you. Instead of a public feed with followers and strangers, you share with your Connections or inside private Spaces you create.

There are twelve beautiful ways to share a moment — memory, thought, quote, opinion, conversation, card, event, poll, photos, video, audio, and text — plus Blips and Lucids. Each one is designed to feel like a real, physical thing worth keeping.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. There are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no ads.

What devices does it run on?

iPhone and Android. There's no public web app — this site is just our home on the web. You can download Zcribbler here.

Connections & privacy

How do connections work?

Connections are mutual. When you send a connection request, the other person has to accept it before you're connected — there are no one-way followers.

You can connect by scanning someone's QR code in person, or by inviting them in the app. You'll also see friends-of-friends, along with how many mutual connections you share.

Who can see what I post?

You choose an audience every time you post: your Connections, or one specific Space.

A post to your Connections is visible to the people you're connected with. A post to a Space is visible only to that Space's members. Being connected to someone does not give them access to your Spaces — the two are separate on purpose.

What happens if I remove someone from a Space?

They immediately lose access to that Space and everything shared in it.

Do you show ads or sell my data?

No. Zcribbler is a private network — there's no public feed, no advertising, and we never sell your data. See our Privacy Policy for the details.

Can I message people directly?

Yes. You can send direct messages to people you're connected with.

Spaces

What are Spaces?

Spaces are private circles within Zcribbler — keep the book club out of the family thread. Post to just the people who should see it, and nobody else.

How many Spaces and members can I have?

You can create up to 25 Spaces, and each Space can have up to 50 members. There's no limit on the number of Spaces you can join.

Ways to share

What are the twelve ways to share?

Each type is crafted to feel like a specific physical object:

  • Memory — a worn photograph with the date, place, and feeling pressed into the paper.
  • Thought — a half-formed idea, set down in a bubble before it drifts off.
  • Quote — borrowed words on a page, with the author's name where it belongs.
  • Opinion — your take, set in an editorial column with your name on the masthead.
  • Conversation — an exchange laid out like a page from a screenplay.
  • Card — a real, foiled greeting card for the moments that deserve one.
  • Event — an invitation with a cover and a date that tears off like a ticket.
  • Poll — a question for the room, with answers that fill in live.
  • Photos — a wall of images arranged the way you'd lay them on a table.
  • Video — a few seconds, framed like cinema.
  • Audio — a voice note for when text can't carry it.
  • Text — just words, given room to breathe.
What are Blips?

A full-screen canvas — text, photos, a soundtrack — that quietly disappears after 24 hours. The unseen ones glow at the top of your feed.

What are Lucids?

A gentle daily game that, over time, builds a private portrait of you. It's a short daily reflection — never a diagnosis — and the portrait is for your eyes only. It's never shared, sold, or used for advertising.

What are stamps?

Stamps are Zcribbler's version of a reaction — a curated palette you press onto a zcribble or a reply. Only the author sees who was moved. Blips have their own smaller set of stamps.

Account

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account from inside the app; we'll ask you to sign in again to confirm it's you. Our account deletion page lists exactly what's removed and what's retained.

How do I get help?

Email [email protected] and we'll take care of you.
